Basic Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Candidates must be able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:

As a Cloud DevOps & Infrastructure Engineer, you will:

Collaborate with Software Architects on how to best design their cloud applications for optimal scaling including content caching, compute optimizations, continuous integration and delivery pipeline, load balancer setup, and more

Work closely with Project Management and team leadership to build and constantly drive excellence in our solutions

Help guide engineering teams in evolving Cloud technologies

In this role, you are the Platform Engineer working with Critical internal and external Platform Consumers. Together with the team, you will support successful implementation of Application PaaS in the Cloud through architecture guidance, best practices, data migration, implementation, troubleshooting, monitoring, and more.

Candidates should have demonstrated strengths and experience in some of the following areas:

Experience working with, or are familiar with the differences between, public (AWS, Azure), private (RHOSP, VIO), and mixed cloud environments

Container technologies such as Docker, or Kubernetes

Deployment of continuous integration and continuous deployment technologies such as GitLab, Jenkins, Puppet, or Chef

Experience maintaining production-grade applications in virtualized environments (cloud computing platforms and services) using automation

Creation of pipelines, Ansible Playbooks, and/or Terraform configurations to automate administrative actions from resource creation to service configuration

Scripting languages such as Bash, Groovy, Python, Powershell, and/or Scala

Effective communication and attention to detail

Other beneficial experience:

IT security practices including encryption, certificates, key management, patch management, STIG, RMF, or security hardening, and auditing

Installation of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) technologies such as Amazon Web Services, OpenStack, RHOSP, or VIO

Management of Cloud Resources in Amazon Web Services, and/or Azure

Platform as a Service (PaaS) technologies such as Kubernetes, Rancher, or OpenShift

Cloud automation tooling such as Ansible, Terraform, Terragrunt, or Packer

Open source server, messaging, load balancing, and database software (such as RabbitMQ, Redis, Elasticsearch)

Scalable networking technologies such as Load Balancers (NGINX)/Firewalls and web standards (REST APIs, web security mechanisms)

Salary Note

This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.

Combined Salary Range

USD $107,520.00 - USD $119,280.00 /Yr.
