We are currently searching for an experienced Transportation Designer to support our Southwest Region located in Cottonwood Heights, UT. Relocation assistance available if needed.
What you’ll be doing:
Prepare quantities and develop PS&E packages supporting highway design projects
Prepare temporary traffic control plans and traffic management plan (TMP) as part of maintenance of traffic (MOT) activities
Prepare permanent signing and pavement marking plans
Prepare traffic signal design plans for new intersections and signal modifications to facilitate multimodal accommodations
Prepare streetlight design plan and perform photometric analysis using AGi32
Prepare Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) design plans
Assist in preparing conceptual intersection layouts, schematics, signal timings and engineering reports
Attend project meetings with clients as needed
What you need to have:
BS in Civil Engineering
0 - 4 years of transportation engineering experience
Proficiency in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
Familiarity with DOT traffic design standards, MUTCD and AASHTO
Familiarity with traffic programs including Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS
Local state DOT experience is preferred
Self-starter and capable of completing tasks with minimal oversight
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written
