Tool Room Support / Mold Apprentice

Co is a plastic injection molding manufacturer

Pay Rate: $20/hr

1st Shift: 6:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (10 hours per day and a day on Saturday’s), the average is 50-55 hours per week.

Position Overview:

Under direct supervision of the Tool room Supervisor works in support of the tooling department. Also supports Production and Assembly on an as needed basis.

MUST have overhead crane experience

Responsibilities and Duties:

Responsible for minor tool revisions requiring light mill, surface grinder, lathe work and/or radial arm drill work.

Performs insert change over to support production.

Performs preventative maintenance of tools recently run by production.

Support to mold layout requiring some light CAD work.

Responsible for proper storage or molds, including retrieving and returning molds to the proper storage location.

Responsible for department sorting and inventorying tooling components including PCS, Aluminum, and bolts.

Performs light setup work on the CNC.

Supports the Manufacturing Department with Production and Assembly needs on an as needed basis.

Ordering materials and cutters as needed.

Education and/or Experience:

One-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
