Sewing Machine Operator

AWS Inc. manufactures high-quality nylon products for the Military, Law Enforcement and Civilian markets. AWS Inc. has been manufacturing high-quality products for over 55 years in Fayetteville, NC. We are looking for driven individuals to join our team.

Sewing experience is preferred but training is available if the applicant can pass a basic sewing test. If you are a motivated, high-energy, positive person willing to be trained in different areas of production and can pitch in when needed, we provide on-site training for eager candidates willing to learn a new skill. The Sewing Machine Operator is to maintain a high level of quality standards based on product specifications.

Responsibilities / Duties:

- Follow instructions

- Operate Industrial Automatic and Manual Sewing Machines

- Operate Single/Double Needle, Bartack, Overlock Machines

- Operate a Grommet/Snap Press Machine

- Assemble / Sew pieces of cut material together

- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately

- Sew materials according to the Production Sample, ensuring each product meets our quality requirements

- Maintain clean work area

- Ability to lift up to 20lbs

- Adhere to safety guidelines

Qualifications:

- Local or ability to commute to Fayetteville, NC with reliable transportation

- Coachable and positive attitude

- Reliable and punctual

- Must be responsible, willing to learn, able to adhere to deadlines and be dependable

- Team player who is self-motivated and works independently

- Must be able to sit for long periods of time

- Regularly move from sitting to standing positions effortlessly

- Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity

- Regularly perform repetitive tasks using hands and feet to operate machinery

- Ability to read and follow directions

This position is a Temporary-to-Permanent position. The candidate will undergo a 90-day period of training and assessment to ensure skills and attention to detail of sewing meet a high quality of standard.
