Position Summary

The Nursing Assistant will ensure accurate and efficient processing of provider ordered lab kits used by Home Health Agency Nurses and Independent Nurses specific specialty pharmacy patients. This position will prepare patient lab test paperwork and the kit for new and ongoing orders. They will verify that all required documentation is completed and included with the outgoing kits. Responsible for checking vendor website for results of tests and forward documentation back to the provider. The position will also organize patients for replenishment of kits for the frequency needed for lab tests to be drawn. Responsible to ensure a sufficient supply of test kits and other lab supplies are kept on hand based on patient volume. This individual will work with multiple departments to ensure lab kits are shipped on time and when needed for the home nurse.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Training

High School diploma or equivalent required. Prefer active technical school or associate's degree

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)

Excellent internal and external customer service skills

Knowledge of medical administrative and medical clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other medical office policies, processes, and procedures

Essential Job Duties

Responsible for compiling all paperwork for lab kits and ensuring timely shipments for home nurse labs draw.

Check lab vendor website and fax/email results to provider office

Replenish supplies with ordering from lab vendor

Contact lab vendor to resolve any billing issues

Other assigned work related to lab tests at home
