Location: Sterling Heights, MI

Shift: 2nd and 3rd Shifts Available

Pay: $28-$32+ per hour, based on experience

Job Summary:

We are currently seeking PLC and Automation Technicians for 2nd and 3rd shifts. These positions involve the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of automated industrial machinery. The technicians will apply their knowledge of controls and mechanical technology to maximize overall equipment effectiveness and will train, coach, and mentor manufacturing and technical personnel.

Responsibilities:

Test, troubleshoot, and oversee the implementation of new processes and robotics.

Install retrofits to existing systems and troubleshoot hardware and instrument problems.

Maintain automation processes and write reports.

Experience programming Fanuc and Allen Bradley/Rockwell robots or similar.

Assist with integrating robots to existing machines.

Assist with integrating standard vision systems.

Perform other duties as assigned, including preventive maintenance.

Support start-up activities.

Respond to calls for assistance.

Comply with safety regulations and protocols.

General fabrication skills, including constructing Robot EOATs, Button Installation, Machine guards, Sensor brackets, etc.

Strong technical knowledge in programming, installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of equipment including robots, scanners, and cameras.

Read and understand electrical prints, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics and prints.

Travel as needed to support project start-up and manufacturing operations at local locations.

Technical Position Qualifications:

Preferred robotic experience.

Experience programming Allen Bradley/Rockwell.

Knowledge of industrial networks (Ethernet I/P, DeviceNet, Profibus, ControlNet).

Experience with VFD and Servo drive systems.

Thorough knowledge of power distribution as it applies to machine controls.

Basic knowledge in the design and application of fluid power controls (hydraulic, pneumatic, vacuum).

Thorough knowledge of electro-mechanical control devices (Optical, inductive, capacitive sensors, contactors, relays, switches, power supplies and transformers, motors, and motor starters).

Knowledge of common machine guarding devices (Bumper Strips, Light Curtains, Area Scanners, etc.).

Experience with vision systems.

Strong knowledge of electrical safety and machine guarding.

Computer literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.).

Ability to interact professionally with all levels of management.

Ability to cope with stressful situations and maintain a professional and cooperative temperament.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Requirements:

Minimum 3 years of controls automation experience.

Completion of a 2-year degree or technical certificate program or manufacturing experience.

PLC hardware and software.

HMI hardware and software.

Networks & database operation.

Robot set up and programming.

Vision systems set up and programming.
