Responsibilities:

Supervise and coordinate all activities of the kitchen staff, including chefs, cooks, and dishwashers, to ensure smooth and efficient operation.

Lead by example, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes teamwork, creativity, and excellence.

Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking techniques, and sanitation practices.

Monitor food quality and presentation, ensuring adherence to Maü Miami's standards of culinary excellence and guest satisfaction.

Manage inventory levels of food and supplies, including ordering, receiving, and storage, to minimize waste and control costs.

Conduct regular inspections of kitchen equipment and facilities, ensuring proper maintenance and compliance with safety and sanitation standards.

Train and mentor kitchen staff on best practices for food safety, handling, and hygiene, ensuring compliance with local health regulations.

Collaborate with the front-of-house team to coordinate menu offerings, specials, and promotions, and provide support during peak service hours as needed.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, techniques, and ingredients, and incorporate them into menu development and kitchen operations.

Uphold Maü Miami's brand image and values through your demeanor, appearance, and interactions with staff and guests.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in a managerial role in a high-volume kitchen, preferably in a fine dining restaurant or luxury hotel.

Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.

Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques, ingredients, and trends, with a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences.

Proven ability to manage inventory, control costs, and optimize kitchen operations for efficiency and profitability.

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed to meet the demands of our business and uphold our commitment to exceptional service and hospitality.

Requirements:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a professional kitchen, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.

Proficiency in kitchen management software and basic computer skills.

Fluent in English, with proficiency in Spanish considered an asset.
