POSITION SUMMARY:

Peak Partners has a regional healthcare payer client seeking to hire a Cyber Security Systems Engineer who can help administer, program, maintain, implement, and support various departmental and enterprise-wide platforms with optimal security solutions in mind.

The position is a remote work environment but might require a monthly or quarterly visit to headquarters in Baltimore, Maryland so all candidates must live within driving distance to the Baltimore office.

Principal Responsibilities:

Design complex solutions that conform to institutional policies, standards, and guidelines, and infrastructure environment and to vendor and industry best practices to deliver a quality product.

Provide complex server level administration (manage HW/SW, maintenance, upgrades and patches, account maintenance, backups and recoveries and assist users)

Develop new methods to improve service processes, performance, and functionality by examining existing systems management tools and processes.

Monitor the operation of server systems on a scheduled basis.

Collaborate with Cybersecurity Engineers on the Enterprise Management, Monitoring, and Security team to support security incident response activities.

Conduct systems performance evaluations, monitoring, patch management and security evaluations.

Analyze user needs in various computer environments (including but not limited to mainframe, Windows, and mid-range) and makes recommendations for products and services that meet those needs.

Responsible for full life cycle of medium to large sized complex projects. Supporting an enterprise system entails the support of a system with 100,000+ users.

Researches, plans, implements, and maintains server system standards and growth.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

B.S in Computer Science or a related field preferred.

Strong current knowledge of IT Security Monitoring and Logging systems such as Splunk Enterprise, Splunk Enterprise Security and forensic tools such as Sysinternals and Encase.
