Due to growth-driven expansion of its Commodities Group, Karbone is currently seeking a Sales Trader focused on Power Origination and Marketing for our US Power Desk.

Responsibilities:

Originate, structure and execute bilateral deals/contracts for Power, Capacity, and Ancillary Service contracts in North America.

These include but are not limited to: Mid and Long-Term Power Off-take (physical and financial), Corporate and Non-Corporate PPAs, Options Contracts, Capacity and Resource Adequacy, Basis Swaps, Ancillary Services and other Grid Attributes, Tolling Agreements and Energy Arbitrage Hedges, etc.

Establish, manage, and grow relationship network with existing and new market participants including developers, asset managers, Independent Power Producers, utilities, non-utility Load Servers, Commodity Merchants, trading funds, infrastructure investors, and corporate/non-corporate end-users

Conduct client meetings and roadshows, participate in industry networking events, with the goal of building a book of business and growing company exposure.

Maintain knowledge of market developments, regulation/legislation and industry trends.

Serve as Power Market subject matter expert for the Commodity Desks, and key touchpoint for global markets via Karbone UK office.

Qualifications:

2-5+ years relevant work experience in power generation, distribution, and/or trading firm(s)

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or similar field

Polished sales acumen and demonstrated drive to generate revenue and close deals

Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong results-orientation, teamwork, innovation, entrepreneurialism, and the ability to scale a growing Commodity franchise

Direct experience in Origination and/or Power Marketing highly preferred

Base salary estimated to be within the range of $70K-$150K+ depending on relevant experience
