Manual Machinist

Job Description

Machinist needed to manufacturer and re manufacturer classic car parts. We want a full time person but we are willing to also consider a part time person.

Machinist will be responsible for taking old parts and restoring them to the way they were in the 60's and 70's so to work here you must think old school. We rebuild classic car brakes, master cylinders, power steering and suspension parts etc. etc..

We do not have any CNC machines (yet) so you will be using manual milling machines, lathes, turrett lathes, drill press and much more. Must have atleast 5 years experience running mills and lathe.

Must have knowlege of cutting inserts.

Experience working with harden steel.

Basic knowlege of auto mechanics.

Experience working with stainless steel material.

Understanding of "press fit"

Must know how to indicate in a 4 jaw chuck. Must have experience using 4 jaw chuck.

Knowledge using micrometer/caliper.

Knowledge using hydralic press.

Welding experience is a plus.

You must be honest, dependable, clean cut and willing to work.

Common sense is a must.

Whinning not allowed here.

Non Smoker is highly preferred.

Applicant must be willing to work overtime.

We attend cars shows and we work alot of overtime getting ready for the shows and this means we are going to work some weekends in order to get everything ready for the shows and this overtime is mandatory.

A schedule of car shows is posted at the beginning of the year so you will have plenty of advance notice.

Machinist will be responsible for setting up you own machines to run parts and will also be responsible for checking quality of your own workmanship.

You must be able to use all of the basic machinist tools

This is not your normal machinist job. you will not be handed a blue print and be told go do this job. You will have to learn not only how to machine and remanufacture/rebuild the parts you must know what make, model and year car they fit.

You must have a very good memory to be able to do all that is asked of you to remember.

We will train you in every aspect but you must have been a real machinist with real machinist knowledge to work here.

Applicant must be able to work well with others and able to follow instructions exactly as instructed.

Commonsense is a must.

You will be working with some very valuable parts and you must understand that some of them are not replaceable.

Machinist will be a very important part of the company growth as we are expanding this part of our business.

Non smoker is highly, highly preferred.

Self motivated hard working people need only to apply.

This is a T-shirt blue jean job so no tie needed here. We are looking for people who are willing to start at entry level position and work your way up at a constantly growing company.
