Job Description

Position Summary: AMFT, ACSW, APCC: As an Addiction and Mental Health Therapist, you will meet individually with clients, run group therapy, and perform crisis intervention as needed. You will monitor clients to evaluate the success of therapy and adapt treatment as needed. You will prepare the Master Treatment Plan for all assigned Clients and update within agency guidelines. Breakaway does provide supervision for you.

Responsibilities and Duties

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform individual and group therapy services for clients.

Complete initial assessments upon admission and comprehensive biopsychosocial as needed.

Develop client treatment plans within 7 days of admission.

Review and evaluate client progress in relation to measurable goals described in treatment plans.

Intervene as an advocate for clients to resolve crisis situations.

Complete concurrent reviews

Modify treatment plans to comply with any changes in client status.

Coordinate therapy efforts with Clinical Director and additional professional staff.

Attend training sessions and in-services to increase knowledge and skills.

Participate in all mandatory staff meetings

Aid Case Management teams in discharge planning and work collaboratively to ensure successful aftercare plans are completed..

Qualifications and Skills

Qualifications:

A Master’s degree in social or behavioral science in a human services discipline.

Preferred Candidates: AMFT, APCC, ACSW Licensed LMFT, LPCC, LCSW

Minimum requirements: For licensed therapist: Required hours completed; license test scheduled or 2,500 hours toward license completed, AMFTs need to have children hours completed. For AMFT/ACSW/APCC we can provide supervision if necessary

This position also requires proof of a current negative TB test, CPR/First-Aid certification, and documentation for I-9 verification within the first week of employment.

Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

Must be well-versed in counseling protocols and techniques, have excellent clinical skills and maintain professionalism in dress, speech and actions.

Must have good problem-solving skills, work well with others and be a team member.

Must have expertise in communicating with highly developed written and verbal skills.

Must have a working knowledge of twelve-step programs and principles.

Ability to recognize the importance of adapting to various groups.

Ability to adhere to safety policies and procedures.

Ability to use good judgment and maintain confidentiality.

Ability to demonstrate tact, resourcefulness, patience, and dedication.

Ability to accept direction and adhere to policies and procedures.

Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.

Job Type: Full-Time (30-35 hours a week)

Monday-Friday hours include 9:00am-3:30pm, can come in earlier or stay later (very flexible)

Staff meetings 3:30 Pm-5:00 PM weds
