Job Description

Client is looking for a Sr. EV Designer Engineer to Design EV(electric Vehicle charging station) sites across the state of NJ. This person would do the initial site walks, understand the layout and obstacles of the topography, design site layout in CAD, Design utility pathway and routing on Google Earth, create the drawings for Zoning, and put together the construction Drawings for review. This person will be working in CAD and Google Earth for the most part, but will have access to Revit, CAD Electrical or other options of they prefer something different. This work will be completed across the state of NJ so there will be some travel associated with this. During travel, the customer will provide mileage when needed and possibly a rental car if needed, all pass through expenses.

The ideal place for this candidate to sit is Wall, NJ due to the office being there, however are open to Camden, Newark and Hackettstown. There will be times they will need to attend meetings in the office.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Looking for someone that can come in and hit the ground running. They have a PE on staff that will support this person, but this will be the person over all the EV designs. This person will also interface with the end clients and may be put in a leadership role, good communication is imperative.

Client has around 180 employees so is a larger Engineering firm. The NJ office is one of the only EV specific Engineering departments in the company and they have quite a bit of autonomy. Although the are a large firm the NJ market gives them a small company feel with a close knit team. They are looking to grow and expand the business in these markets which means this person would be in line for a leadership role if they prefer.

Work Environment

This will be a hybrid model where most of the work will be done from home. They will be provided a laptop and monitors for work.

They have a flexible work schedule, however do need people to be available during core hours of the day for questions.

Will need to do office visits from time to time.

Business Drivers/Customer Impact

They are seeing a steady stream of this work coming in and don't have any active employees on staff that are EE or have done EV Design. This will be the go to person for this market. They will be the SME on all their EV Design Projects.

Why is the position open(provide details)

This is a new work stream for FPA and they don't have any active Electrical Engineers capable of doing this work. The additional of these Engineers will allow them to drive additional revenue streams across the company.
