Job Summary

We are seeking a Geriatric Nurse to join our team! As a Geriatric Nurse, you will spend your time caring for our aging patients, administering medication, and following care orders laid out by the team of doctors. You will also work closely with other nurses and nurses aids offering support and guidance, make rounds with doctors as needed, and be a supportive, helpful presence to our patients. The ideal candidate has experience working with an older population, has all the required licensing in the state, and works well independently as well as within a team environment.

You can expect to work with a great team of medical and surgical Doctors, Nurse Practitioners,

and Scribes to contribute to the facility’s effective post-acute care (short-term rehabilitation,

medical, and nursing management) or long-term care of nursing home residents.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have previous rehabilitation and healthcare experience and will have

reliable transportation.

Responsibilities:

Assure delivery of quality care services to

all patients in a respectful and professional manner.

Effectively work with other in-house and non-facility professionals (nursing, medical/surgical

services, occupational/physical/speech pathology therapists, psychologist, social workers,

consultants, etc.)

Provide information and commentary as needed pertinent to patient/family deliberations.

Properly analyze medical issues and proceed with proper course of

Perform history and physical examinations throughout the patient’s facility stay.

Document patient care services by charting in

patient and department records

Manage various acute/chronic medical and post-surgical conditions such including (but not

limited to) hypertension, diabetes, atrial fibrillation, congestive heart failure, COPD, GERD,

osteoarthritis, hyperlipidemia, pneumonia, skin or urine infections, and wound care.

Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
