Job Summary The Antibody Discovery group is a specialized team within the Protein Therapeutics function that is responsible for the discovery of biologics for drug candidates and critical reagents.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Research Associate I to join the team in this newly created position.

The successful candidate will contribute to antibody discovery efforts as part of a cross-functional team focused on identifying novel biologic modalities to support all therapeutic areas at Gilead.

Job Responsibilities In this fully on-site, laboratory-based role, the successful candidate will support efforts to generate novel antibody-based therapeutics and reagents.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, have a strong expertise in rodent in vivo work, with general knowledge of hybridoma and single B-cell antibody discovery workflows.

Conduct rodent immunizations via tail vein, IV, IP, IM or SubQ injection.

Proficient with tissue collection and processing, e.g.

blood, spleen, lymph nodes, or other tissues of interest for downstream analysis.

Maintain and ensure a safe laboratory environment and work practices.

Follow standard operating procedures (SOP) and IACUC protocols.

Opportunities to lead antibody discovery projects and represent the group on project teams.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support functional characterization of antibodies.

Contribute to the development and optimization of innovative antibody discovery platforms.

Present scientific results in multiple settings and attend project team meetings.

Maintain accurate experimental records and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.

Qualifications M.S./B.S.

degree with at least 3-5 years of laboratory experience utilizing techniques or methods required by the position.

Must be able to work with mouse colonies.

Experience with general laboratory techniques, especially basic vivarium techniques (mouse handling, injection, tissue harvesting) is required.

Experience with immunization of varieties of immunogens including DNA, mRNA is a plus.

Experience with in vivo imaging is a plus.

Experience in ELISA, FACS, and mammalian cell culture skills is a plus.

Willingness and ability to learn new methods and skills.

Ability to work independently and as a member of a research team.

Highly organized and capable to track multiple, complex workflows.

Strong written and oral communication skills, with an ability to work in a dynamic, collaborative, and evolving environment.
