Job Description
MK2 Engineers is looking for an exceptional individual to fill our growing electrical department's Electrical Design Engineer role.
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:
Experience in a US-based A/E firm or design-build contractor
EIT license preferred
BSEE degree from an accredited university
Desired Requirements and Qualifications:
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Excellent written and verbal communication coupled with strong organizational and people skills
Expertise in electrical system design and electrical design software
Proficiency in California electrical codes, Title 24 Energy Standards, NEC, and NFPA
AutoCAD experience
Revit experience is a plus
Duties and Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Responsible for concepts and documentation from schematic through construction administration phases
Design of electrical power and lighting systems for new construction, retrofits, and system upgrades
Electrical load calculations; voltage drop calculations; short circuit study
Prepare and document required code research for projects
Prepare specifications, technical reports, and system narratives
Site investigations, field visits, and construction support services
Oversee QA/QC process of projects, including drafting
Interface with team members of other disciplines in our integrated collaborative environment
Client and consultant interface - coordinate with consulting architect, civil and structural engineers
