Implement configuration changes and perform routine and emergency troubleshooting.

Coordinate with OEM vendors for device support and resolve any operational issues.

Ensure all firewall appliances are up to date with the latest software versions and signature update

Perform regular backups and restoration of firewall configurations.

Create, delete, and modify firewall and IPS security policies and rules as required

Proactively recommend IPS rule tuning to enhance security measures.

Conduct network traffic analysis to identify and mitigate potential security risks.

Utilize Panorama to manage and monitor multiple Palo Alto firewalls and VPN gateways

Ensure consistent and updated policies across all managed devices

Coordinate policy and rule updates, imports, and synchronization across the firewall network

Oversee the health and performance of all devices through the central Panorama console, addressing alerts and performing escalations and reporting as needed.

Manage and troubleshoot the Global Protect VPN infrastructure

Oversee the VPN connection stability and security for remote users, ensuring zero downtime.

Address network issues impacting VPN performance and implement corrective measures.

Provide ongoing support and maintenance for the VPN infrastructure.

Develop, assess, and manage security policies and rules on firewalls and IPS devices

Adapt security configurations in response to evolving organizational security requirements

Regularly review and recommend modifications to firewall rules and IPS signatures for optimization.

Continuously review and manage IPS configurations and signature sets.

Tune IPS rules to effectively mitigate identified threats without affecting network performance.

Collaborate with the Cybersecurity Policy Analyst to harmonize IPS rule sets with overall security policies

Analyze network traffic to identify abnormal patterns and potential security threats.

Recommend and implement improvements for overall network hygiene.

Support network troubleshooting efforts alongside the VPN Specialist and Firewall Administrator

Ensure all managed security appliances contribute to a cohesive and secure network environment.
