About the Role: Grade Level (for internal use): 09 The Role: Senior Research Analyst. The Team: We are currently looking for a senior research analyst to join S&P Global Commodity Insights' dynamic Crop Science team to support the ongoing analysis and data services. The Crop Science team produces world class analysis, forecasts and data across global seed and crop protection markets. The Impact: The senior research analyst is a core member of the Crop Science team and is involved in producing and publishing quality analysis and supporting other colleagues in ongoing projects. The role is an integral part of the overall analysis and forecasting of the global industry in maintaining proprietary models used to estimate the size of the market at a granular level. The successful candidate would contribute to a fast paced, and dynamic team based globally that works across the crop protection and seed markets. Responsibilities: Analysis of fundamental drivers impacting global crop protection and seed markets, working with the teams covering biological and conventional pesticides, GM/GE and hybrid seeds. They will work closely with the Research Managers (Crop Protection and Seeds) to ensure overall quality and alignment of analysis.

They will take part in interactions with external customers and other internal stakeholders who are based globally, developing subject matter expertise to provide acute support to the industry.

The senior research analyst will maintain and continue to develop proprietary models within the Crop Science team providing industry leading estimates and forecasts. The role will also work to update exising and develop new interactive dashboards to showcase data prepared across the Crop Science group.

Working with other analysts to prepare and publish daily/monthly and annual reports giving insight into the performance of the sector. What We're Looking For: List a maximum 4 bullets outlining the key qualifications of the job, e.g. education, must-have skills, languages etc. A high degree of analytic ability with an ability to communicate the results in reports. Experience in data modelling with competency using Python or other analytical language. Outstanding written communication skills and attention to detail. Excellent MS Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint and Power BI skills. Basic Qualifications: A BS in Economics, Agriculture, Biology or Chemistry. An advanced degree is beneficial. Strong inter-personal and communication skills, and the ability to develop trust and respect from both colleagues as well as clients. Superior written and oral communications and fluency in English. A passion for learning and intellectual curiosity. An interest in agricultural markets and how they operate. You will have high energy, are willing and able to deal with client requests as they arise, and to travel as the job requires. Self-motivated and ambitious, with good problem-solving skills. The ability to work independently and in an organized manner. Preferred Qualifications: 2+ years of relevant industry experience in market research or agribusiness consulting (crop protection and/or seeds) is a plus but not required. Experience in data modelling with competency using Python or other analytical language. Experience of using data visualization through Tableau or, preferably Power BI.
