Since 1993, T2 Utility Engineers has provided professional surveying and mapping for acquisition and mapping of 3-dimensional spatial data in support of plans and preparation for construction of roadways, subsurface infrastructure, commercial and private land developments. Using advanced technologies including GPS, laser and LiDAR scanning, MCGPR, UAS (drones), our team of field technicians, surveyors, and engineers capture quality data and provide professional insight to help our clients visualize, plan and design their projects. Our mission is to provide project stakeholders with quality information, professional insight and deliverables that streamline construction, improve project safety and set the standard for the engineering industry.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Prepares computer-generated survey drawings, according to established standards and procedures, from field collected data using CAD software
Performs general survey calculations
Assists with office processing, checking and processing field information, DTM generation, right-of-way computations, boundary survey preparation, underground utility survey preparation, etc.
Revises or changes survey drawings, traces and/or copies existing drawings and completes simple calculations with specific instructions
Understands and follows the company’s standard CAD procedures for layering and standard drawing procedures for sheet layout
Well organized and with outstanding work ethic, works well with a dynamic and highly efficient team. Maintains schedules and progress reports for self-performed work
Acquires field survey data using traditional survey methods such as digital levels, total stations, GPS as well as static and mobile lidar acquisition platforms
Manages field survey data and provides progress reports
Performs field reviews of design survey data and maps
Maintains field survey equipment for calibrations and repairs
Maintains and orders field supplies necessary for performing day to day field survey operations
Qualifications:
Minimum of high school or technical school training with courses in computer-aided drafting or equivalent experience (Microstation, AutoCAD Civil3D)
Certified Survey Technician (CST I, II or III) or the ability to obtain the title soon is highly preferred and encouraged
All activities will be under the direct supervision of a licensed state PSM, utilizing a variety of software packages including: AutoCAD (Civil3D), MicroStation, GEOPAK, Leica Geo Office and CAiCE
3 – 5 years’ experience with the software packages is preferred, but not necessary for an individual able to learn on the job and in a progressive atmosphere
DOT District Right of Way Control Survey Mapping and Right of Way Mapping experience is preferred
Use hands and/or fingers to touch, handle, move or feel
Reach with hands and arms
Clear vision (at 20 inches or less), with or without corrective lenses
Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors)
Must be able to design plans, using pen/paper/mouse
Must be able to read maps and transcribe technical information from them into
design
Must be able to visit and assess work sites
