KVC is seeking a PMTO Therapist who is interested in changing the lives of children and families. The Parent Management Training Oregon (PMTO) Therapist provides direct intervention to children and families involved in Family Preservation, Foster Care and Adoption Services.

The duties and responsibilities of this position are as follows:

Provides face to face intensive in-home services to assigned parent, child and families.

Participates actively in PMTO training to achieve and sustain certification (see below)

Maintains a case load of approximately 6-10 families

Provides services in the home with parents and during parent-child visits 5-8 hours a week for 4-6 months

Develops a transition plan with the family for discharge planning

Provides services to families in conjunction with case workers and other community service providers

Develops treatment plans cooperatively with the case worker assigned to the child in out of home placement, coordinating visits, transportation, etc.

Develops strong professional relationships with other community service providers working with the family to develop a treatment plan.

Participates in team meetings with the family, case worker, and other community professionals.

Responsible for completion of assessments and documentation with the family

Ensures data is documented and reported monthly and accurately

Participates actively in training, meetings, and consultations

Ensures timelines and quality reports are documented weekly

Responsible for completing PMTO certification

Participates actively in comprehensive, multi-phased training in PMTO (Parent Management Training - the Oregon Model)

Participates in all scheduled workshops and trainings

Responsible for video-taping parent, child and family sessions

Responsible for uploading sessions to secure database

Responsible for efficient completion and upload of session information

Actively participates in PMTO group and individual coaching

Incorporates coaching feedback in session work

Other tasks as necessary

Education:

Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a field licensable by the KS BSRB

Licensure/Certification:

BSRB licensure

Current, valid Driver’s License and Auto Insurance required

Experience:

Requirement for long term commitment to project. (4 year commitment)

Ability to travel and work flexible schedule including evenings and weekends

Strong organization and time management skills

Ability to receive and incorporate feedback

Able to adopt new intervention strategies, willingness to be have work video taped

Team-oriented: collaborative and supportive of colleagues

Intermediate computer skills

Preferred Skills:

Clinical licensure preferred

Knowledgeable about SED youth, foster care and behavioral approaches
