Welcome to Advance Plumbing & Heating Supply Company, a fourth-generation family owned and operated business, started in 1920. The company's original location was at 2984 Grand River Ave. in Detroit, across from the Motor City Casino. On October 31st, 2016 we moved to our new location at 150 Parsons St. in Midtown Detroit. The new state-of-the-art location features the City of Detroit's first ever Decorative Plumbing Showroom which opened in winter of 2018.
In 1990, with a solid reputation for excellence and an expanding market, Advance opened up a second location in Walled Lake, Michigan which features a state-of-the-art 5,000-square foot decorative plumbing showroom and an outstanding plumbing & heating parts counter.
What You’ll Do:
Advance Plumbing stocks over 13,000 items from pipes, valves and fittings to faucets, sinks, shower products, water heaters and much more in order to serve the customer in a timely manner. The ability to provide the products customers' need, when they need them has remained a staple throughout the Advance Plumbing history. We are proud to provide a staff that is extremely knowledgeable and eager to help advance the success of their customers. Some Duties May Include:
Manage the performance of PVF inside sales reps
Build, implement, and oversee the inside sales training program and assist in the development of the PVF inside sales staff
Supervises the daily operations of the Service Counter department with respective employees
Ensure service quality is maintained within each customer interactions
Support staff in servicing customers and resolving inquiries
Evaluate new or current products while determining relevant product displays
Provide alternative suggestions or complementary products beyond the original order
Conduct trainings or product knowledge insights to staff members
Meet regularly with leadership team to review, analyze and develop concise action plans for productivity and loss prevent relevant towards operational goals
Serves as the final link for online sales by invoicing orders, checking prices and supporting with shipment inquiries
Participate in off-site vendor trainings or lunch and learn events with clientele
Some travel may be required

Lift up to 50 pounds
Excellent problem-solving skills and leadership qualities
Analyze business metrics, plan and schedule departmental activities that align with organizational objectives
Be capable of working in a fast-paced environment, in a customer focused role, while having a high attention to detail and speed
Possess the drive to identify customer needs, provide profitable solutions
Ability to frequently deliver written and oral feedback
Proficient with related computer systems such as Microsoft Office and internal ERP systems

7+ years industry related sales experience is required
Passion for providing an excellent customer and employee experience
A successful associate will be results oriented, self-motivated, able to complete tasks in a timely manner, build relationships and enjoy a team environment
Excellent communication, time management and organizational skills
Problem solving, leadership and listening skills
General digital literacy
Self-Motivator, ability to multi-task and learn quickly
Experience using ERP software
Experience with Cloudsuite Distribution ERP (preferred)
