Job Title: Head of Technology Engagement

Level: L4A

Reports To: Enterprise Services Director

Department: Digital & Technology

Context/Scope:

Diageo Digital & Technology (DT) is a multi-functional, digital delivery function established to liberate and equip markets to deliver the Diageo’s Strategic Priorities. This is achieved through:

Putting our customers at the heart of delivery

World class end to end process execution

Generating performance enhancing insights from data

Providing CPG leading digital capabilities and solutions

Responding to and embracing change

D&T plays a critical role in enabling Diageo’s digital agenda through delivering our strategic priorities in many areas, including E-Commerce, Digital Marketing, Demand Sensing and Manufacturing Optimisation.

The Technology Engagement sits within the D&T Enterprise Services team, to enable greater stability and security through a structured and consistent approach to delivering the best IT employee experience.

This team is responsible for ensuring the IT employee experience of our sites including day-to-day operations, project delivery and driving improvements.

There is a significant annual investment planned to enable delivery of the stable, compliant and technology foundation of D&T which supports the delivery of the Diageo Ambition

Market Complexity

D&T is a global organisation delivering services to Diageo markets across all technology solutions. This role leads the defined teams within Enterprise Services

Leadership Responsibilities & capabilities

This role will partner with a number of senior stakeholders across the D&T functions, with whom effective working relationships are essential. In particular, this role will work closely with the Regional and Valuestream teams

Purpose of Role

This role will have overall accountability for delivering the employee technology experience at the Diageo sites, while ensuring that we continually work to improve, enhance and simplify our processes.

Top Accountabilities

Accountable for the execution of all the Regional services relating to technology engagement/employee experience

Ensures best practices are adopted

Ruthlessly focused on driving out costs through innovation and process waste identification

Ensure evergreen strategy in place for all components per scope

Provide LT with the information needed to assess the health of the services and continued optimisation

Interface with LT and Stakeholders to keep them up-to-date with risks and opportunities

Line Management: set annual performance targets for individuals and the team. Provide coaching, training and support to enhance the team’s capability

Qualifications and Experience Required

This is a leadership role that interfaces with senior stakeholders across D&T and the business. An ability to partner and influence at that level is key to success.

Experience of performing a similar role in Diageo or at other similar organisations.

ITIL v3 foundation qualified.

An excellent working knowledge of operational practices and principles.

Excellent analytical and technical skills.

Ability to understand and determine when issues should be escalated to a higher level.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to handle difficult situations.

Degree level qualification

Ability to produce clear written material with a keen attention to detail.

Ability to communicate technical information in a clear and understandable manner to non-technical stakeholders.

Strong analysis and decision-making skills.

Commercially and contractually aware.
