Senior Software Engineer

Overview

STONE Resource Group is partnered with a leading company in the Finance Industry looking to add a Senior System Engineer to their team. This is a Direct Hire, hybrid opportunity based out of Atlanta, GA offering leadership roles and advanced technology exposure.

This position will require you to be onsite 3-4 days per week in their Atlanta office. There is no opportunity for fully remote work.

The Senior System Engineer will play a key role in maintaining high-performance server solutions and automation tools, impacting the organization's operational efficiency and technological advancement.

Job Responsibilities

Design, implement, and optimize server solutions

Develop automation scripts and tools

Evaluate and integrate new technologies

Provide technical support and mentorship

Tune and design systems infrastructure

Automation of manual tasks using scripting and application development

Respond to and assist in production operations in a 24/7 environment

Evaluate, test, and integrate new operating system versions, drivers, and patches

Participate in a weekly on-call rotation for after-hours support

Must-Have Skillsets

Linux and Windows experience

Scripting in Python or PowerShell

Automation implementation

Active Directory proficiency

Experience with Puppet

5-10+ years in Linux or Windows Server

Coding skills (Python, Ruby, PowerShell, etc.)

Automation/configuration management knowledge (Puppet, Chef, Ansible)

Familiarity with version control and CI/CD tools

Multi-tiered application design expertise

Customer-focused mindset

Nice to Have Skillsets

Engineering degree or equivalent experience

Virtualization knowledge (Docker, Kubernetes)

Network analysis skills (tcpdump, wireshark)
