Anticipated Duties:
We’re seeking to fill a key position for someone to serve as a Site Safety Representative as it relates to the construction of various water and wastewater facilities with the expectation for additional assignments/projects as part of Hazen’s growing Corporate EH&S group. The successful candidate will have the following routine activities:
Evaluate and monitor the construction contractor’s performance, as it relates to compliance with client and regulatory Environmental Health and Safety Standards
Facilitating EH&S risk identification and mitigation assessments
Developing and delivering EH&S training materials and program
Deliver Daily Reporting on Safety observances
Complete Monthly and Annual Reporting as required for Client EH&S Policies.
Qualifications/Skills required:
Bachelor's Degree in engineering, Occupational Health, and Safety or other related fields
Minimum 6 years full-time EH&S experience (substantial professional years of experience in EH&S field may be considered in lieu of degree)
Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) or Occupational Safety and Health Technician (OHST) Certifications
Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or Associate Safety Professional(ASP) designation preferred
Success in developing and implementing health and safety procedures for large infrastructure projects
OSHA 30-Hour Construction within 5 years
40 Hour HAZWOPER
Experience with NYC Municipal Clients such as NYCDEP or NYCDDC
Ideally, You’ll Also Have:
OSHA 500 Authorized Outreach Trainer certification
NYC Department of Buildings Local Law 196 training
Experience with NYCDEP
Experience and certifications meeting qualifications of NYS DEC Qualified Environmental Professional
Working knowledge of E-Builder
Excellent team player with exceptional interpersonal skills to deliver results and meet project metrics
Excellent communication skills, self-motivation, team-oriented work practices, adaptable to changing priorities, and excellent organizational skill
