Role and Responsibilities

This job position is part of the Construction team and its duties include but not limited to the following:

The welder will make sure that he arrives to the jobsite on time and check in with the Gillette foreman.

The welder will keep the vehicle and welding machine maintained through the use of fleet maintenance.

It is the responsibility of the welder to keep company tools in his care maintained

The welder will have his own hand tools that enables him/her to perform all different facets of welding i.e., soldering, brazing and SMAW/GMAW procedures.

It is the responsibility of the welder to familiarize himself/herself with the different components of the AC work and how to pipe in. Such components are, but not limited to; boilers, chillers, pumps, cooling towers, chemical boards, expansion tanks, filter feeders, make up water systems, AHU’s FCU’s, FBB’s, split systems, etc.

The welder will maintain consumables on his vehicle that he needs to work in his trade.

The welder will perform his work in a safe manner and not to expose himself/herself and other workers to hazardous conditions.

The welder must be able to read and interpret blueprints and isometric drawings

The welder will assist the fitter in assembly of piping and accessories.

The welder to make all welds that are his to make shootable by the welding inspector.

The welder must be able to perform 6G and structural welding as needed for the task at hand.

The welder to work cohesively with the whole team on the jobsite.

Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
