Overview:
Mead & Hunt is looking for an experienced planner with a focus on sustainability planning, sustainability support services, and environmental analysis and documentation for airports. Mead & Hunt is offering a full-time, mid-level planner position to work with our Rocky Mountain South Central aviation planning department and our nationwide aviation group.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include assisting with:
research, analysis, and creation of aviation planning documents such as: comprehensive sustainability programs, climate action plans, energy efficiency programs, waste diversion plans, and/or greenhouse gas reduction initiatives.
environmental documentation including providing national and state environmental documentation including documented categorical exclusions, environmental assessments and environmental impact statements.
incorporation of sustainability elements into master planning projects as well as terminal and airfield design projects.
preparing presentations for stakeholder and public meetings/workshops.
creating maps, figures, and graphics.
writing technical reports and public communications pieces.
Assistant and deputy project management support.
Qualifications:
A valid drivers license and a moderate amount of travel will be required.
The successful candidate will have the following:
a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in urban planning, sustainability and resilience planning, environmental planning or engineering, aviation/airport management, civil engineering, architecture, geography/GIS, economics, or a related field from an accredited four-year college or university
Minimum of 4 years of experience (or equivalent).
The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:
strong communication and technical writing skills
self-motivated, takes initiative and leads project tasks
strong time management and organizational skills
strong research skills related to aviation, planning, sustainability, resilience, and environmental topics
experience working in a team environment and independently
experience with public presentations and speaking
experience with GIS, AutoCAD, and/or graphic design software
interest in aviation, and airport planning and development
Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV SP) certification from the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure
Certified Planner (AICP) from the American Planning Association

Salary Range: $80,000 to $105,000 – Actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as: experience, skill set or location.
