Specialty Teacher (Performing Arts)

Job Description

We are seeking a Specialty Teacher (Performing Arts) to join our Performing Arts after-school and summer program team!

Job Location: Mott Haven, NY

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement engaging and age-appropriate curriculum for performing arts classes.

Instruct students in a specific aspect of performing arts, including but not limited to acting, singing, dancing, and improvisation.

Foster creativity, self-expression, and confidence in students through interactive and hands-on activities.

Collaborate with the Creative Director to integrate specific performing arts into a show.

Organize and oversee performances, showcases, and other events to showcase students' talents.

Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their growth and development.

Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment conducive to artistic exploration and expression.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Performing Arts, Theatre, Dance, Music, or related field.

Specialization in non-specific performing arts (e.g., general performing arts, multi-disciplinary arts).

At least one year of experience teaching performing arts to students of varying ages and skill levels.

Passion for and knowledge of performing arts education, including current trends and best practices.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.

Flexibility, adaptability, and a collaborative mindset.Company Description
