Club Manager / CEO (part-time)

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced individual to join Stony Creek Racing Club in the role of CEO/Club Manager.

The club requires a highly motivated, energetic and innovative leader to run a progressive and exciting thoroughbred racing business.

About the club.

The Stony Creek Racing Club is South Gippsland’s only racing venue and hosts five race days from December to March.

These events are family-focused, have strong community engagement and attract both locals and holiday makers in the area.

The club’s flagship event, the Ladbrokes Stony Creek Cup is run on the Sunday of the Labour Day long weekend.

If you have the skills and attributes listed, then this may be the position for you: Experience in and passion for the thoroughbred industry (desirable though not necessary) Ability to operate effectively in a race club environment Ability to manage operations to ensure alignment with the club’s strategic objectives Event management experience, with the ability to innovate and problem solve Strong customer and client focus Strong communication and interpersonal skills Proven financial and business acumen; ability to develop and adhere to budgets Proven ability to create and foster strong relationships with multiple stakeholders Demonstrated ability to manage a small part-time and casual workforce to meet Club targets and objectives Demonstrated integrity and the ability to uphold Club values Experience in OH&S management and regulatory compliance Further job details… Part time position of approximately 1186 hours per year (average of 22.8 hours or 3 days a week). Given the seasonal operations of the club, the successful candidate will be required 4 days a week for 6 months of the year, and 2 days a week for the remainder.
