Controller – Non-Profit in DC!

About the Company and Opportunity:

Our client is a non-profit organization located in DC looking to inform, educate, and inspire our community!

Due to growth, they are hiring a Controller to work hybrid!

The leadership team is dedicated to employee success and love to promote from within.

Pay: $55-65/hr depending on experience.

Overview of the Controller role:

Directs and coordinates company financial planning and budget management functions.

Recommend benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance of divisions and departments.

Monitors and analyzes monthly operating results against budget.

Oversees daily operations of the finance department.

Prepare financial analysis for contract negotiations and product investment decisions.

Works with department managers and staff to develop 5-year and 10-year business plans for the company, goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.

Directs financial audits and provides recommendations for procedural improvements.

Provides financial statement reporting and analysis, cash flow analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.

Directs month end closings, financial reporting and coordination of audits.

Preferred Qualifications for the Controller:

Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting preferred

5-10 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position

Nonprofit experience is helpful but not a must have

Advanced Excel skills – pivot tables, VLOOKUP’sCompany Description
