Roles and Resposibilities:

Installation and Configuration: Installing and configuring Oracle database software to meet the needs of the organization.

Performance Monitoring: Monitoring the performance of the database and making adjustments to optimize its performance.

Security Management: Implementing and maintaining security measures to protect the database from unauthorized access and ensuring compliance with security standards.

Backup and Recovery: Implementing and managing backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability in the event of system failures.

Database Design: Collaborating with developers to design and implement database structures that meet the needs of the organization.

Troubleshooting: Investigating and resolving database-related issues and errors to ensure the continuous operation of the database.

Patch Management: Applying patches and updates to the database software to ensure it remains secure and up to date.

Capacity Planning: Planning for future growth and ensuring that the database has sufficient capacity to meet the organization's needs.

Requirements:

Over 10 years’ Unix Administration experience, preferably on Solaris.

Certified by Oracle as System Administrator.

Certified by Symantec for NetBackup for Unix.

Certified by Veritas in Cluster for Unix.

Good knowledge in Linux.
