WHAT THE ROLE DELIVERS

The Senior Cost Accountant will direct, coordinate, and control financial-related activities for 2 manufacturing plant sites: Osceola and Wallingford in support of the Molding Compounds Business units. This role includes product costing, budgeting, reporting, cost center monitoring, variance analysis and monthly closing activities.

The position will also perform other key duties in support of the entire Roehm Accounting organization including LIFO calculation and standard & Actual Cost runs.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Monitor and analyze manufacturing costs for 2 plant sites, including materials, labor and overhead vs budgets and provide regular analysis to management.

Costing of all new products for Molding Compounds products.

Performs the monthly Standard & Actual Cost runs and analyzes results to ensure deviations are explainable and no inaccuracies.

Performs month-end closing activities including variance analysis, cost center accruals, cost center review.

Ensure proper internal controls over inventory and coordinates the annual physical inventory verification process.

Prepares monthly inventory balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring a full understanding of monthly movements in stock.

Prepares the yearly LIFO calculation and annual Inventory Reserve calculation.

Coordinate the annual financial budgets with site management.

Provide necessary reports and analysis in support of Internal and External audits.

Drive and ensure site compliance to internal and external audit policies.

Participate in safety and housekeeping programs as required.

Participate in staff/production meetings with Operations as requested.

Travel up to 5% yearly.

WHAT WE ARE SEEKING

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

Minimum 5 Years of Cost Accounting experience and 10 years of financial experience.

Technical proficiency in SAP system.

Proficiency with Excel & PowerPoint.

Strong communication & leadership skills.
