Position Description
This position is located in the Department of Defense (DOD), Defense Legal Services Agency(DLSA). The General Counsel of the DoD provides advice to the Secretary and Deputy Secretary of Defense regarding all legal matters and services performed within, or involving, DoD provides legal advice to Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) organizations and, as appropriate, other DoD components. The General Counsel serves as the Director of the (DLSA).
Position Duties/Responsibilities
Incumbent typical work assignments may include the following:
Researches, interprets, analyzes and applies national, inter-agency, Office of the Secretary of Defense policies, directives, instructions, operations orders, and other guidance as applicable.
Balances workload and provides advice, guidance and direction on a wide range of continuity and administrative issues.
Leads and/or participates in discussions, meetings, conferences, committees, or special Continuity of Operations Planning.
Prepares and presents briefings which outline problems and solutions and keep management aware of their role in Continuity of Operations Planning.
Develops/maintains systems to evaluate and monitor contractual performance regarding support, costs, potential areas of performance difficulties, cost and need for future funding requirements.
Serves as the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) for all OGC/DLSA contracts.
