Job Summary: To operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using gas metal arc welding (GMAW)
Required Education and Experience:
High School education with mechanical aptitude
Ability to work efficiently with minimum supervision
Ability to work in a team environment and be a Team Player
Flexibility to work overtime as required
Ability to work on different shifts as required
Ability to organize workload in an organized and tidy manner
Support Quality System, Safety and Environmental Management System requirements
Must be willing to perform tasks that are of reasonable request by Supervisor
Ensure that all duties and tasks are carried out in a safe and efficient manner and at no time is the employee or their co-workers placed in an unsafe condition
Essential Functions:
Weld all and any metal assembly parts within provided weld specifications
Ensure all tasks are performed in the allotted time as provided
Must use or wear equipment, protective devices or clothing as required by the Company
Inspect all welds to ensure conformance to specifications as well as removal of all spatters
Assemble parts according to instructions provided
Operate a welding cell and or assembly line and to perform other duties according to specific job instructions provided
Work in a safe manner, obeying all health and safety regulations. Report all unsafe acts and conditions to Supervisor and/or the Joint Health and Safety Committee
Follow instructions/ directions as required by Supervisor and/or Team Leader
Complete all production and quality documentation in an accurate and timely manner as required including labelling process.
Contribute to continuous improvement, productivity, quality, customer service, cost reduction and safety requirement
Ensure housekeeping is maintain at all time at the work cell
Ensure that only quality parts are passed on to the next operation
Ensure that production quota is met on each shift
Working Environment:
100% plant floor (PPE required)
Physical Demands:
Require communication with employees, peers and management
Lifting and pushing as needed
Health and Safety:
Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company and plant rules, policies and procedures
Must use or wear Personal Protective Equipment and certain clothing as required by the Company
