Expected Starting Salary Range: 28.15 - 35.98

SUBFUNCTION DEFINITION: Community Relations at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center serves as a point of entry into the organization as an information and resource hub that centralizes and standardizes the way we connect to the community.

Proficient in project management. Leads multiple less complex projects with a variety of constituents and/or one larger; more complex project with multiple community stakeholders. Receives direction from leader.

REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES

·Program

Planning, management & execution. Forming credible, effective, long-range strategies to attain overarching organizational objectives. Demonstrated leadership and strategic planning skills and the ability to implement projects successfully. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, work both independently and in a team environment, and work efficiently and creatively to meet deadlines. Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills as well as the ability to exercise sound judgment. Knowledge of data management methodologies.

·Community Partnerships and Health Education

Knowledge of community engagement principles (best practices and effective strategies for collaboration with internal and community partners). Effective community education and health promotion. Knowledge of local government processes and functions. Capable of relating to diverse age and demographic backgrounds. Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and successfully with community organizations.

·Community Engagement

Knowledge of key CCHMC communities, including those we serve and those where we have locations. May manage and coordinate employee involvement in external outreach activities or quality improvement testing on behalf of the Medical Center. Effectively leverage engagement, outreach and health education activities and measure impact and effectiiveness. Engage employees, internal departments, and community partners as needed to achieve goals. Ensure communications, rewards and recognition programs as needed to maintain optimal enthusiasm for initial and continued internal and community engagement.

·Internal Programs

Manage, coordinate and lead internal and external community outreach and engagement - serve as the point of contact for the medical center's involvement in external endeavors. Coordinate meetings, luncheons and other functions as needed. Work with internal departments to coordinate and complement institutional strategies. Maintain contact and coordinate potential and current internal volunteers/participants. Work with Marketing and Communications to create marketing collateral.

·Communication

Professional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills w/ an ability to develop materials for presentations to a variety of audiences both internal and external. Computer literate and competency related to Microsoft Office with emphasis on Powerpoint and Excel.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Required:

Bachelor's degree in a related field

2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline

Preferred:

Strong writing skills and experience creating written content for newsletters, reports, and multi-cultural print communications.

Prior experience in multi-cultural and community communications across multiple channels (print, social media, radio, video, and direct engagement).

Background in graphic design software, such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign, with experience translating complex concepts into visually engaging and accessible materials for diverse audiences.

Collaborate with leadership, internal teams, and partners on communication, especially with Marketing and Communications.

Participate in communications huddles with internal stakeholder groups.

Ensure the use of best practices in community communications, including diversity, health equity, and pediatric populations.

Track data and evaluate outcomes to determine effectiveness.

Competency with Microsoft Office Software (PowerPoint, Word, Excel); Project Management and Presentation Skills and Communications Software as appropriate.

Pursue professional development as needed to stay current on communications, community engagement, and other skills relevant to the position.
