Responsibilities

Position is ultimately accountable for the personal safety, food safety, production, and the budget of the facility

Plant accountability and development of the staff that report to you is also a significant portion of the duties of the Plant Manager

Must be comfortable on the plant floor and giving directions and developing leaders

Assisting in developing and appropriately implementing operational strategic plans, policies and practices to meet quality, food safety, capacity, service and financial/cost/budget expectations

Aligning all manufacturing-related activities appropriately to meet corporate supply chain requirements

Acting as liaison with appropriate corporate support functions in achieving the desired culture of employee engagement, building optimum employee relations, appropriately training/developing employees and obtaining employee safety goals

Identifying, assisting, and ensuring the completion of all capital projects

Develop an extensive talent pipeline of diverse, highly qualified candidates

Developing and guiding a team of technical experts to address and resolve problems regarding production, quality, and work problems as appropriate

Overseeing safety and quality investigations by the process of Root Cause Analysis

Maintaining relations with Union representation by assisting HR Business Partner in resolving grievances and managing too the contract

Acting as liaison with appropriate corporate support functions in ensuring compliance in accordance with all applicable regulatory agencies, such as OHSA, FDA, USDA and EPA

This position is responsible for overseeing Operations/ Production Managers and the day-to-day activities of the facility

Qualifications

Position needs excellent time management skills and the ability to answer and take calls at all hours of the day

Confidence in manufacturing and great decision-making skills are required

The ability to develop or build a strong team will also help drive success

Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in a food manufacturing facility
