An Instructional Design Assistant’s role within the Instructional Design Department is to assist in the creation and improvement of Ensign College courses. The Instructional Design Assistant might work as a part of a Design Team, alongside Instructional Design and Subject Matter Experts or help on side projects such as Quality assurance reviews or user experience tests.
A successful Instructional Design Assistant applicant must have:
Excellent written and oral communication skills
A knack for making complex ideas understandable
The desire and ability to identify problems, proactively find answers, and suggest improvements
The capability to work well both in a team and independently
Confidence to ask questions of and work closely with professionals
An eye for content layout
The ability to thrive in an innovative environment
Excellent time management skills
Experience with Google Apps (Docs, Sheets, etc.)
Additional qualifications that aren’t required, but will be helpful:
Experience working with learning management systems (Canvas)
Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
Copyediting experience
Video editing experience
Experience or interest in learning design
Successful applicants will be able to work 20 hours per week and should have multiple semesters available to learn and work with us. Since you will be working remotely, it is important that you have a quiet space, reliable internet, and a flexible schedule to join the different meetings throughout the week.
