The Digital Hub in Seattle focusses on developing a cloud architecture and building out the cloud platform for the next generation of connected car services.

The Testing and Regulatory Affairs Division in Ann Arbor and the Advanced Vehicle Design in Carlsbad complete the competence center.

We are seeking a dedicated intern to join the Functional Safety team this summer.

As a Engineering Intern, Functional Safety you will join our team focusing on the design and development of safety algorithms for electrified powertrains.

The successful candidate will play a key role in developing cutting-edge solutions that integrate electric motor control and power electronics to meet and exceed industry standards and customer expectations.

This is an in-person position from our Farmington Hills, MI office.

Our ideal candidate is a Master’s student, who is available from June to December.

Job Responsibilities:

Design and develop functional safety algorithms for electrified powertrain systems using Simulink and TargetLink models.

Perform auto code generation and ensure algorithm verification and validation through various methods including simulation, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), dyno tests, and other prototype testing environments.

Interact with key stakeholders including universities, customers, and team members to provide solutions and support that align with customer expectations.

Deliver systems that are compliant with safety standards and meet customer requirements.

Assist in the development and documentation of functional safety work products according to the ISO 26262 standard.

Minimum Qualifications:

Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field

Strong background in Electric motor control/Power electronics background

Proficiency in Rapid prototype tools, such as DSPACE/Micro Autobox/FPGA

Familiar with Matlab/TargetLink

Familiar with C language

Knowledge of power electronics in electric drive systems

Valid US Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications:

Master degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred
