This position works out of our Woodmead Offices in the Rapid Diagnostics division South Africa. In this division our rapid diagnostics solutions are helping address some of the world’s greatest healthcare challenges. Our diagnostic solutions are used in hospitals, laboratories and clinics around the globe.

Field Sales Trainer will assist in the execution of training plans for field-based sales professionals and customers

What You’ll Do

Ensure New Hire understanding of all key areas of product information, internal processes; including but not limited to Salesforce, Power BI and Learning Management Systems

• Work closely with the cluster Technical Training Specialists and/or managers on running cluster related trainings.

• Assist Product Managers, Marketing Managers, Corporate Accounts, Distributors, Agents, and customers where needed, in implementing training programs for cluster field teams

• Inform meeting participants of upcoming training events.

• Creates training schedules, tracks and creates reports on outcomes of all training, and maintains training records

• Includes ordering/shipment of Training Workbooks and materials

• Assess New Hire of training sessions and material

• Maintain all demo supplies, material and resources for New Hire and other training, including ordering new supplies as needed

• Assist in the Field Travels of the Director and Colleagues for new hires and existing employees. Provide feedback to new hire and direct manager, make recommendations on areas of growth opportunities

• Ensure New Hire, in collaboration with the Cluster Field Coach and Technical Training Specialists, is fully capable, based on trainings and test outcomes, of going into their territory

• Work together with the Cluster Field Coach, Technical Training Specialists or managers on a sales call demonstrating instruments, presentation skills of the Abbott

• Keeps up to date on all product information, marketing strategies/initiatives in order to act as key resource for New Hires in conjunction with the Director Commercial Training.

• Must provide product demo excellence capabilities on all key products to New Hires in conjunction with Cluster Field Coach, Technical Training Specialists/managers.

• Plan, schedule and conduct weekly/biweekly/monthly New Hire or training calls during first year of New Hire employment to ensure reinforcement of all key training topics, key processes and directing New Hires to appropriate resources helped by the Cluster Field Coach, Technical Training Specialists/managers.

• Work in partnership with assigned Field Coach to ensure New Hire is comfortable with training content, pace of delivered training and identify training and resolve gaps

• Work with the Director Commercial Training EMEA to identify unmet training needs and help create curriculum to facilitate the necessary training

• High level of communication with the Director Commercial Training EMEA, Field Coaches and Regional Sales Managers to ensure New Hire training and development needs are met

• Develop and maintain repository of competency measures by Field Trainers, including but not limited to quiz questions, role plays, projects and videos

• Develop creative ways to engage meeting participants for reinforced learning

Required Qualifications

BA/BS in Marketing, Business, and/or Biological Science or related field required, higher degree strongly preferred

Preferred Experience

3-5 years’ experience in the field i.e., Medical or Diagnostics Sales, Marketing, Public Health, Commercial Excellence or Training

Passion for sales, sales processes and customer centricity preferred

Ability to relate to sales with a continuous curiosity of reaching a level of excellence

An encouraging attitude, driving a culture of winning and ability to adapt

Training or coaching experience and ability to facilitate activities, events and programs preferred.

Excellent leadership and organization skills as well as demonstrated outstanding communication skills; ability to prepare effective written evaluations and recommendations to make improvements

Delivering effective virtual and in-person training experience preferred

Demonstrate the ability to utilize internal resources, effectively plan and work within their assigned territory

Must be willing to travel 50% into Africa
