Job Description

Day Shift, Monday through Friday

Salary $14-$17 an hour

Our practice is a physician owned thriving Family and Occupational Medicine practice established in the Atlanta area for over 25 years. We are located just south of Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson Airport. We are fully equipped with a wide range of diagnostics, an efficient EMR system, patient portal, friendly trained staff to serve the healthcare needs of individuals, families and companies.

Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program

Certified Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) Preferred

High School Diploma or equivalent

BLS Certification

Knowledge and Skills:

Excellent interpersonal skills

Ability to always communicate clearly and effectively with patients and staff

Detail orientated and highly organized

Knowledge of EMR system

Ability to perform standard clinical procedures

Knowledge of patient evaluation and triage procedures

Knowledge of safety, environmental, and/or infection control methods

Must be able to always maintain strict confidentiality of patient information

Job Responsibilities:

The Medical Assistant is responsible for obtaining patient medical histories and verifying patient information. Prepares patients for physical exams, including taking vital signs, medication dosage and frequency and allergens. Perform ancillary testing and tasks such as EKG, Spirometry, Inhalation treatments, and x-rays. Preform specimen collection and tests. Check out patients with referral processing and arrange laboratory services. Provides instructions and directions to patients regarding diagnostic tests, procedures and treatment. Ensures all forms and consents are completed by patients. Advise patients about their test results in compliance with provider directives. Manage inventory of medical supplies and exam rooms with appropriate supplies as well as maintain the cleanliness of patient exam rooms and patient restroom. Medical Assistants will be crossed trained to perform Front Office duties including greeting patients, check in/out, making appointments, answering phones and verification of insurance, collection of patient balances, co-pays, co-insurance and deductibles. Obtaining all other information needed for the patient's visit as required.
