The Supervisor, Project Accounting supports the business by providing timely and accurate financial reporting, analysis and assistance to the Project teams. The role provides thorough compliance and checks-and-balances oversight for all project-specific financial transactions and financial reporting. In addition to their own projects, the Supervisor assists in compiling data through their teams/assigned areas to conduct broader financial analyses that look at entire business groups in order to evaluate how the business is doing as a whole. This person will directly manage Senior Project Accountants, Project Accountants and Assistant Project Accountants.
Responsibilities
Project Team Support and Oversight
Manage CTC summary reports
CTC and WIP Meeting Attendance
Oversight and review of internal budget before locked
Oversight of cost move process
Oversee rate table creation
Oversight of owner bill posting
Approve check requests
Review contract abstracts
Identify potential job write offs
Manage your own book projects in addition to oversight of team.
Reporting and Analysis
Preparation of WIP- GP profit/loss at the business line level
Forecasting model/monthly projections- project level
Oversight of weekly AR report
Review of time charging reports
Supervision
Direct supervision of Project Accountants and Senior Project Accountants
Liaison between project teams and corporate finance
Other projects as assigned
Qualifications
7+ years relevant project accounting experience
Construction Accounting experience preferred
Demonstrated people and team management skills. Management experience preferred, or at the minimum, team lead/mentorship experience.
Undergraduate degree preferred (accounting and finance coursework)
Advanced degree a plus
ERP experience a plus
Other skills:
Technical mastery in the following areas: Understanding cash flow, cost to complete reporting, owner contracts, construction accounting
Ability to build relationships at all levels of organization
Strong business and project acumen
Demonstrated understanding of project accounting concepts and application in a fast paced and changing environment.
