We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Validation Engineer with extensive experience in the consumer electronics industry, particularly in Bluetooth connectivity. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successful validation roles within major OEMs such as Meta, Apple, Samsung, Google, or leading cell phone carriers like Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, etc. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting deep dive testing of Bluetooth connectivity from an OEM perspective, working closely with premium OEMs to define, design, and develop test plans, and ensuring adherence to project schedules and KPIs.

Responsibilities

Lead and collaborate with other engineers and technicians at our Camarillo facility to conduct rigorous testing of Bluetooth connectivity.

Define, design, and develop comprehensive test plans in collaboration with premium OEM partners.

Review project progress with OEM partners regularly, ensuring alignment with project schedules and KPIs.

Manage the technical relationship with OEM partners to deliver solutions within specified timeframes, budgets, and quality standards.

Provide valuable insights and suggestions to enhance product performance and other KPIs.

Set up and configure Bluetooth lab devices and test stations to support validation activities effectively.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s/Master’s in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent practical industry experience

5-8 years of practical experience in the consumer electronics industry, preferably within major OEMs or leading cell phone carriers.

Minimum 5 years of testing experience in Bluetooth connectivity and performance.

Embedded development/design experience is essential.

Advanced knowledge and understanding of Bluetooth short-range wireless technology.

Deep expertise in developing profiles and protocols for BT 5.2/4.1/4.0, 2.1+EDR.

Strong theoretical understanding of BLE Audio.

Proficiency in Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) profiles such as GATT, GAP, SMP, PXP, FMP, HOGP, HRM, LE secure connection, etc.

Extensive experience in enhancing Bluetooth classic profiles like A2DP, AVRCP, HFP, OPP, HID, PBAP.

Hands-on experience with Bluetooth analyzers (e.g., FTS4BT, Frontline Sodera).

Ability to debug and provide root cause analysis reports/suggestions to the development team.

Excellent understanding of Bluetooth profile/protocol and Wi-Fi standards.

Thorough knowledge of Bluetooth SIG specifications.

Familiarity with IEEE 802.11 protocol standard in 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz frequency bands.

Desired Skills:

Experience developing for ARM / Linux environments

Experience with Azure or AWS APIs

Experience with CMake and cross-compilation

Experience with Docker and VMWare

Experience with CodeBeamer, Zephyr

Experience with Unit Tests, SIL, HIL and Simulation
