We are looking for an experienced Commercial Audio-Visual (A/V) Installer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, testing, and resolving issues with audio and visual systems in commercial settings. This includes installing and configuring sound systems, projectors, screens, video teleconference rooms, and related equipment.

Responsibilities:

Set up and configure A/V systems in commercial environments

Install cables, mount speakers, and set up projectors, screens, and other equipment

Resolve technical problems and perform necessary repairs

Collaborate with clients to ensure A/V systems meet their specific requirements

Test and fine-tune A/V systems to ensure optimal performance

Provide training and technical support to clients

Maintain accurate records of installations and equipment inventory

Stay updated with the latest A/V technology trends and advancements

Essential Skills:

Technical Knowledge: A strong understanding of audio and video systems, equipment, and technologies is crucial. This includes knowledge of sound systems, projectors, screens, video conferencing systems, cabling, connectors, and other related components.

Installation and Configuration: Proficiency in installing and configuring audio and visual systems in commercial environments. This involves setting up and connecting equipment, running cables, mounting speakers, and ensuring proper integration and functionality of the entire system.

Troubleshooting and Problem-solving: The ability to identify and resolve technical issues that may arise during installation or operation. This requires troubleshooting skills, logical thinking, and the ability to quickly find solutions to ensure optimal system performance.

Communication and Collaboration: Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for working with clients, understanding their requirements, and collaborating effectively with team members, contractors, and vendors. Clear communication is crucial for providing accurate instructions, addressing client needs, and coordinating installation tasks.

Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to work is necessary to ensure accurate installation, cable management, and system calibration. Paying attention to small details can help avoid costly mistakes and ensure the system meets the client's specifications and expectations.

Technical Documentation: The ability to maintain accurate records of installations, equipment inventory, and system configurations. This includes creating and updating documentation such as equipment lists, wiring diagrams, and user manuals.

Training and Support: Providing training and technical support to clients is often part of the role. The ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and concise manner and assist users in understanding and effectively using the audio-video systems is crucial.

Adaptability and Flexibility: Ability to work on different projects and job sites, so being adaptable and flexible is important. This includes being available for flexible working hours, traveling to job locations as needed, and being open to learning new technologies and industry trends.

Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety procedures and practices when working with electrical equipment, power tools, and working at heights. Following safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and others is critical.

Time Management: Efficiently managing time and prioritizing tasks to meet project deadlines. This includes planning installation schedules, coordinating with other team members, and ensuring timely completion of projects.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent

2+ years of experience in A/V installation and configuration

Familiarity with A/V equipment and software

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Availability for flexible hours and occasional travel to job sites

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Requirements:

Must have a valid driver's license

Must pass a criminal background check and pass a drug test

Must be willing to work anywhere in Houston and surrounding area

Must have reliable transportation

Must be available to work a flexible schedule when needed

Abilities:

Lift up to 75 pounds at one time and at least 50 pounds for an extended period of time.

Fully utilize and relocate a 10-12 foot stepladder without assistance.

Works at various heights up to 60 feet; can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and all types of ladders.

Full ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, turn, twist, crawl, squat, walk, climb, push, pull, and reach overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.

Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see the differences in colors, shades, and brightness

Possess the ability to understand and communicate in English at a minimum conversational level.
