Senior Accountant - Columbus, OH

The Senior Accountant plays a pivotal role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations, and providing support in financial reporting and analysis. This position typically reports to the Controller and works closely with other members of the accounting team.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts, providing valuable insights and recommendations to management.

Financial Analysis: Conduct variance analysis and performance evaluation to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.

Internal Controls: Implement and maintain internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.

Tax Compliance: Coordinate and support tax compliance activities, including preparation of tax returns and liaising with external auditors and tax authorities.

Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency enhancement, driving continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including hands-on experience with financial reporting, analysis, and budgeting.

Strong knowledge of GAAP principles, financial regulations, and compliance requirements.

Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).

Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
