Job Description:

As a Jewellery Store Accountant based in India, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of our operations in the region, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in our accounting processes. You will play a critical role in maintaining the financial health of our business while upholding the highest standards of integrity and confidentiality. Key responsibilities include:

1. Financial Reporting and Analysis:**

- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Indian accounting standards.

- Conduct variance analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.

- Provide insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.

2. Budgeting and Forecasting:

- Develop and manage budgets in collaboration with department heads.

- Forecast financial performance and cash flow to support business planning.

- Monitor budgetary performance and provide recommendations for cost optimization.

3. Accounts Payable and Receivable:

- Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.

- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

- Manage collections and credit control processes to minimize outstanding receivables.

4. Tax Compliance:

- Ensure compliance with all Indian tax regulations and reporting requirements, including GST.

- Prepare and file tax returns, including GST returns, income tax, and TDS.

- Liaise with external tax advisors and authorities as necessary.

5. Inventory Management:

- Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and valuation.

- Conduct regular inventory reconciliations and audits to ensure accuracy.

- Implement controls to prevent shrinkage and minimize inventory losses.

6. Financial Controls and Compliance:

- Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and prevent fraud.

- Monitor compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

- Coordinate with auditors during financial audits and implement audit recommendations.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification preferred.

- Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the retail or jewellery industry in India.

- Proficiency in Indian accounting standards, taxation laws, and accounting software (e.g., Tally).

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.

- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
