Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist

Provide leadership for junior medical staff, midwives and nurses to improve quality of care through participation in continuing education, peer review and clinical governance activities; and to promote seamless operation of the service through engagement via the O&G clinical group. Up to 2.0 FTE, full time and part time roles considered.

Fellowship of the Royal Australasian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (or assessment by the college that the position holder is suitable for the position) this is a must for the applicant to be considered.

The Hospital treats approximately 12,000 acute inpatients and 17,000+ Emergency Department patients per year. It provides specialist surgical, medical, obstetrics and gynaecology and paediatric services with some general practice inpatients. There is a 6 bed Critical Care Unit that provides ventilation and haemofiltration. There is also a number of visiting sub-specialty services including Urology, Cardiology, Oncology, Nephrology & Haemodialysis. Surgical services are supported by both specialist and general practitioner anaesthetists.

Postgraduate clinical training, qualifications and experience assessed by the College as being fully or partially comparable to an Australian physician andSuitable for an Area of Need physician appointment.
