POSITION TITLE: Assistant Football Coach/Strength & Conditioning Coach REPORTS TO: Head Football Coach and Director of Athletics PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITES: The Assistant Football Coach/Strength & Conditioning Coach will program and provide year-long sport specific workout routines for all sports at Eureka College.

Utilizing the weight room, turf field and gym, the focus of this position is to maximize player performance on the field or court, as well as focusing on injury prevention and student-athlete well-being.

This coach will also serve as an assistant coach for the football program.

Specific duties may include, but are not necessarily limited to the following: 1.

Create sport specific in-season and off-season workouts for all sports at the College.

2.

Create effective warm-up and stretching routines to maximize performance and prevent injuries in student-athletes.

3.

Collaborate with all Head Coaches to incorporate specific needs and focal points for areas of improvement in off seasons.

4.

Collaborate with all Head Coaches to set up a calendar for team workouts to be as organized and efficient as possible around other sports' schedules.

5.

Maintain a clean and organized weight room.

6.

Demonstrate and explain proper lifting techniques and form to prevent injury and maximize results.

7.

Create and enforce weight room rules to maintain a safe environment for all students.

8.

Assist with the teaching the sport of football to the student-athletes at Eureka College.

9.

Assist with the evaluation, recruitment, and retention of football athletes, specifically offensive players and quarterbacks at Eureka College.

10.

Assist with meeting recruitment and retention goals set by the college.

11.

Assist the Head Coach with recruitment reports.

12.

Assist with the daily planning, organization, and supervision of practices and competitions.

13.

Contribute to the overall program of a residential college.

14.

Other duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Assist with the supervision, care for, and inventory equipment and facility.

* Oversee and maintain accurate statistics as needed for team sport working in conjunction with the Sports Information Director.

* Maintain effective working relationships within the athletic department team and the College as a whole in order to contribute to the overall success of all sport programs.

* Positively lead and contribute as a member of the Athletic Department both internally, around the college, and to external groups.

* Assist with the oversight of academic progress of student-athletes on the team.

* Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS: Manage and coordinate meetings as assigned.

Depending on whether or not the individual is hired in a coordinator role, the individual could supervise other assistant coaches and student- assistants.

This individual may also supervise student-interns for strength and conditioning as well as student-workers.

EDUCATION: Essential: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four year college or university; or High School diploma/GED with related professional playing experience.

Desirable: Master's Degree.

EXPERIENCE: Essential: Coaching and playing experience at the high school or college level.

Experience creating strength and conditioning programs for athletes in numerous sports that Eureka College offers (Golf, Soccer, Volleyball, Football, Cross-Country/Distance, Basketball, Wrestling, Baseball, and Softball). Desirable: LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: Valid driver's license.

CPR, AED, and First Aid certification.

An active NCAA-approved strength and conditioning certification is required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: * Knowledge of football, rules and regulations, including NCAA and NACC (as applicable to football). * Knowledge of principles, practices and techniques of coaching.

* Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

* Ability to deliver knowledge to and instruct student-athletes in an effective manner.

• Knowledge of safety and first aid techniques.

* Skill in identifying problems, evaluating alternatives and implementing effective solutions.

* Ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with a diverse population.

* Ability to positively contribute to a team environment.

* Knowledge of basic computer applications and electronic mail.

Off campus travel is required.

WORK SCHEDULE: Varies, typical office hours are Monday through Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM.

Schedules vary depending on contests and practice schedules as well as recruitment.
