The Senior Accountant, Marketing will support the timely and accurate month-end GL accounting and reporting for the HelloFresh US brands for marketing accruals.
The person in this role should be experienced working with large data sets and distilling it into meaningful analysis, identifying and resolving issues and employing data analysis to ensure partners and leaders have the most up-to-date and reliable information.

Job Responsibilities include:
Perform the month-end close duties for all aspects of accrual accounting for marketing spend for HF US brands, including preparing and posting journal entries, preparing balance sheet reconciliations, performing month-over-month flux analysis, and performing key-controls
Perform checks to ensure the matching of marketing invoices to planned spend accruals and proper coding
Follow up on matching and coding discrepancies to resolution
Partner with the accounting, FP&A, shared services and marketing teams to ensure completeness and accuracy of month end accruals
Partner with accounts payable, shared services, and marketing teams to ensure timely processing of marketing invoices
Perform detailed validation of aged accrual balances against vendor statements in accordance with policy
Review P&L and balance sheet accounts and provide manager with insights into month-over-month trends
Drive the reconciliation of data discrepancies by deep-diving into lowest level and creating reports to highlight discrepancies to appropriate owners
Support internal and external audit requirements related to specific areas of responsibility
Update process documentation on an ongoing basis as needed
Qualifications:
BA/BS degree in Accounting or Finance
5+ years GL accounting experience, audit experience a plus
Advanced spreadsheet (Excel and/or Google Sheets) and data manipulation skills
Oracle, Tableau, Blackline and SQL experience a plus

At a minimum, you have...
3+ years of experience in Human Resources within food manufacturing/production, CPG, e-Commerce or a high growth/startup company
Knowledge of recruitment strategies and techniques, employment agency methods and operations, developed skill in interviewing techniques
Working knowledge of employee relations, diversity, performance management, and employment laws; must understand confidentiality
Solid coaching and counseling skills
Bachelor's degree or equivalent job experience with SHRM / PHR
Flexibility to work weekend schedules and swing shifts.
