The Landings Golf and Athletic Club is a private luxury residential club on Skidaway Island dedicated to providing members with an active lifestyle through resort-class amenities. The Assistant Golf Professional Responsibilities:

Assists daily with administrative functions such as properly checks in players, collects appropriate fees, announces tee times, schedules Player Assistants on the course and handicap computer accessibility for score posting.

Provides golf instruction for membership in both individual and or group sessions.

Assists with ordering, receiving, displaying, and selling of merchandise at the shop.

Provides the Head Golf Professional with member feedback to help determine proper mix of merchandise to make available for sale.

Provides golf club fitting for membership to increase satisfaction and sales.

Participates in merchandise inventories as scheduled.

Promotes participation and assists in administering member golf tournaments.

Helps provide members with a positive practice experience to include clean practice balls, proper bag stand setup, daily rotation of hitting areas, and clean range mats, as needed.

Assures that rental golf carts are in a clean and organized manner.

Assures that preventative maintenance procedures are done and documented for all golf carts.

Assures that a process is in place to rotate the use of the carts to evenly distribute usage.

Fills in as Manager on Duty in the absence of the Head Golf Professional.

Enforces Club rules and policies.

Enforces USGA Rules of Golf.

Maintains high visibility within the Club.

Plays golf with members when approved by the Head Golf Professional.

Assures that all work is performed within the club’s safety standards.

Attends weekly safety meetings.

Secures the golf shop, starter’s booth, and cart barn with all carts accounted for at the close of business daily.

Complies with departmental grooming standards.

Works variety of shifts, as needed to include nights, weekends and or holidays.

Complies with departmental and Club policies and procedures.

The employee is expected to adhere to all company policies and to act as a role model in the adherence to policies.

The Assistant Golf Professional Qualifications:

Must be a member of or apprentice with the Professional Golfers Association of America with experience at a private club with a high volume of play.

Must have 1-2 years' experience in tournament operations, golf instructional programs, playing, and merchandising.

Knowledge of golf products and merchandise.

Knowledge of the USGA Rules of Golf.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to relate to a wide variety of people.

Must be able to understand and follow verbal/written instructions.

Must be able to use tact and understanding when dealing with a variety of customer service problems, including stressful and highly emotional situations.

Must have the ability to manage a diverse workload, prioritize and delegate in a fast-paced environment.

Must be highly organized and able to handle multiple tasks and to deploy resources effectively.

Must have the willingness to provide exceptional service to members and desire to provide leadership to position the department to achieve the mission.

Must be able to interpret the rules of golf.

Must be able to demonstrate solid playing skills.

The Assistant Golf Professional Physical Requirements:

Standing and walking 80% of shift.

Bending and stooping 10% of shift.

Ability to lift, carry or move from 1 pound up to 50 pounds for 5% of shift.

Playing golf and/or hitting golf balls 10% of shift.
