Bring your manufacturing experience to this unique and growing company! Doherty Staffing Solutions is partnering with a leading manufacturer located in Sioux Falls, MN. We are seeking candidates for Brake Press Operator roles on the 2nd shift. Compensation for these direct hire opportunities is $18.00-$22.00 per hour. Interested? Read below for more information!

What a Brake Press Operator will do:

Operate press brake machine with assistance from Senior Operator or Supervisor

Run bend and forming operations using standard and custom punches

Adjust ram and back gauge locations per process control instructions and blueprints

Check height, depth, and thickness using micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, gauges, and other precision-measuring instruments

Identify and produce parts for assembly operations

Meet customer specifications and delivery requirements

Program the CNC to produce new parts meeting specifications

Perform spot inspections of parts

Perform all required routine and minor maintenance activities according to procedures

Complete and maintain paperwork

Set up light gauge metal

Configure bend allowances for sheet metal (stainless, aluminum & regular steel)

Ensure the machine is calibrated and cleaned and the workspace is maintained to meet safety guidelines

What you need to be a Brake Press Operator:

1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred

Strong metal press forming and basic fabrication background are a plus

Basic knowledge and understanding of fabrication, hydraulic press, and/or punch operations, including basic setup, is desired

Competent at basic dimensional measuring and able to quickly learn the use of precision measurement tools

Demonstrated competency in basic shop math

Basic ability to read and understand blueprints and other shop drawing aids

Ability to work with several types of metal forming constraints with guidance

Ability to operate a forklift

Commitment to quality and accuracy of work performed

Demonstrated ability to implement or respond to change effectively
