POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a motivated, energetic, and experienced, Regional Operations Manager to support a growing Traffic Control division headquartered in the Bay Area. The Regional Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all levels of Traffic Control Operations, which includes, Scheduling, Field Supervision, Recruitment, Traffic Control implementation, and Customer Service. This position reports to the Vice President of Operations.

The Bay Area Regional Operations Manager works closely with his/her Central Valley counterpart to implement companywide Operations policies, processes, and procedures, and to lead Traffic Control Operations throughout Northern California.

POSITION DUTIES:

Coordinate, monitor, and manage various locations within the defined region

Manage and maintain Profit & Loss Statement (P/L). Help to increase profit in all locations within the region by managing controllable operational costs

Improve regional processes, policies, and practices so as to achieve company’s goals and ensure locations adhere to company-wide policies and procedures. Make adjustments to process to positively impact the operational performance and client experience

Regional equipment and personnel forecasting

Ensure execution of the company’s annual regional field recruitment goals, which are based on annual sales projections. Responsible for hitting regional traffic control sales targets by ensuring locations are properly staffed and equipped

Responsible for all aspects of regional Traffic Control Operations, i.e.: Dispatch & Scheduling, Customer Service, Field Operations, Recruitment, Branch Management. Holds direct reports supervisors or hitting goals

Gathers data to produce and present KPI’s and progress reports to staff and executive management

Works closely with the Safety & Training Team to ensure training opportunities and safety concerns are being addressed, and new safety initiatives are being implemented correctly throughout the region

Works closely with the Logistics team to ensure all locations within the Region are properly equipped, and that TC equipment is being adequately maintained

Collaborate with the Business Development Team to setup regional Marketing/Special Events as needed

Demonstrate leadership of performance assessment such as ensuring that all employees participate in discussions focused on company performance

Ensure employees receive targeted coaching to improve individual performance, and engage in active talent management strategies within the region identifying the strengths of potential resources/talent to meet existing and future business objectives

Partner with HR to oversee performance reviews and performance-based salary increments, and to conduct investigations as needed

Maintain relationships with local unions, agencies, and customers

Conduct jobsite visits as needed

Leads the execution of various special projects/ task forces/ business improvement initiatives as identified or as requested by senior management

Takes part in software implementation and or improvement projects as needed

Other duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or equivalent required

Bachelor’s degree in business management or any closely related field preferred

Minimum of 5 years management experience with 10 or more direct reports

Minimum of 2 years Operations Management experience, industry relevant or equivalent

Experience managing a P&L statement and leveraging to control operational costs

Experience leading a team of manager and or supervisor level employees

Strong leadership skills. Must be able to keep employees motivated

Strong analytical skills

American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA) certified flagger, TCT, TCS preferred

Demonstrated knowledge of state and federal agencies including Occupational Health and Safety/Cal OSHA, Department of Transportation, Department of Industrial Relations

Exceptional customer service and communication skills (both written and oral). Must read/write in English. Comfortable speaking with customers and have a mindset to work with customers and satisfy their needs (a problem solver)

Must be a self-starter, able to work independently, highly organized, self-motivated and a team player

Must be dependable and trustworthy

Clean driving record required w/valid CDL

Strong computer skills, and typing skills required. Working proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft Forms), Salesforce required.

Ability to drive medium duty trucks and tow a trailer/equipment if needed

Willing to travel throughout Northern California as needed

Excellent decision-making ability

Metric driven approach to process management

Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) a plus but not required
