POSITION PURPOSE: The Hospitality Coordinator oversees the Old Hickory Blvd location in regard to providing a hospitable concierge level experience for connecting/assimilating both newcomers and current congregants to the core discipleship practices of worship, connect, and serve.

DIRECT REPORT: Pastor of Congregational Care

General Overview:

Responsible for implementing, managing, and consistently assessing a plan for providing a welcoming, receiving and hospitable experience (from initial connection to placement follow-up) to assist individuals to connect in taking their “next steps” at Christ Presbyterian Church, all in the name of following Christ in his mission of loving people, places and things to life. This role will also be a liaison between CPC and CPA.

This role needs to be highly relational with a passion for connecting guests, regular attendees, and members to the life of the church. This role also needs to be system and process minded with an understanding that these organizational structures allow us to serve people well. The role’s primary focus is helping people take their “Next Steps” as they assimilate into the local church.

Role Specific Outcomes/Expectations:

Partner with the Pastor of Congregational Care and Pastor of Discipleship on establishing practical discipleship that builds community making people feel known by how they are treated from parking lot to pew (especially - but not limited to Sundays.)

Partner with the Pastor and Director of Congregational Care in establishing and managing a process to oversee the newcomer touch points and next steps process.

Serve as an ambassador on a Sunday morning and throughout the week connecting with community members interested in CPC as a place to worship or in their “next steps” in engaging in the life of the church.

Establish and manage a process to oversee the current congregant assimilation into the areas of worship, connect and serve.

Be the staff liaison to the volunteer-led and run hospitality team to encompass the welcome center, hosts, parking lot, and “New Here” teams.

Coordinate and attend quarterly Newcomers Luncheon/Coffee

Assists the Pastor and Director of Congregational Care as directed on administrative and strategic initiatives, particularly related to hospitality, congregational care, assimilation, and connection

Support the Adult Ministry team with hospitality at ministry events.

Partner with staff in creating, evaluating, and measuring assimilation practices.

Create and manage staff accountability processes for specific ministry assimilation process queues.

Maintains weekly attendance information and ensures recording into CCB

Be a liaison between CPC and CPA as an onramp for church involvement.

Requirements:

Education

A bachelor’s degree or equivalent job experience required

Experience and Skills

An extraverted personality and skill set that loves interacting with people, through personal verbal relationships, as well as administering an assimilation process.

Connector of people

Adequate computer skills including Google Suite and Database Systems.

Ability to manage and think logistically while simultaneously interacting with members/visitors in an encouraging, welcoming, hospitable manner.

Analytical thinker who can draw conclusions and develop processes.

Ability to interact effectively (including providing direction and in essence managing the process) with the pastors, elders, deacons and laity as it relates to their role in the cultivating and providing connections to appropriate ministry areas.

Requirements
